A once in a lifetime adventure that will take you on an epic outback journey from Charters Towers Queensland all the way to the picturesque coastal fishing town of Karumba in the Gulf of Caprentaria.
Get ready to embark on an unforgettable paragliding tow safari, covering a total distance of 700 kilometres across seven exhilarating legs. This is your chance to discover the beauty of Far North Queensland from a unique perspective and create memories that will last a lifetime.

PILOT REQUIREMENTS & RECOMMENDATIONS
Pilots shall be PG3 Minimum
SAFA Tow Endorsement
VHF Endorsement
Current SAFA Member
Reserve parachute
Recommended to have some XC experience
Have UHF & VHF Radio communications
Hook Knife
Spot or Inreach tracking device highly recommended
Our Paragliding Tag Along Safari is divided into six legs, each offering its own set of challenges and technical flying.
The launch sites are from local airstrips on route, with a few alternative options should the south easterlies not play ball.
Day 1 – Charters Towers to Hillgrove ( Straight Line Distance 70Km ) Camping at Hillgrove Airstrip.
Day 2 – Hillgrove to Greenvale ( Straight Line Distance 110Km ) Camping at Greenvale
Day 3 – Greenvale to Kidston ( Straight Line Distance 90km ) Camping at Kidston
Day 4 – Kidston to Forsayth or Georgetown ( 40 Km ) Camping and Pub meal at Einasleigh
Day 5 – Forsayth to Croydon (143 Km ) Camping and Pub meal at Croydon
Day 6- Croydon to Normanton ( 130 Km ) Camping and Pub Meal at Normanton
Day 7- Normanton to Karumba ( 45 Km ) Camping at Karumba
Day 8- Start Drive Back to Charters Towers
Day 9 – reserved for Bad weather
Dy 10 – Reserved for Bad weather
Please note that the destinations between Charters Towers and Karumba may change due to weather conditions and some flexibility is required. This will be updated on the fly with regular weather briefings.

NOTE: Tag-a-long Pilots will require a self organised retrieve vehicle and driver
Fully Inclusive Option Includes: $ 375 / Flyable day

All retrieve drives and pick up for each leg along the agreed flight path corridor for the expedition period.

An Allocation will be made in our support vehicle for Pilots personal Bivi equipment ,food rations & water. This can either be onboarded at Charters Towers or when we depart from Mullumbimby / Gold Coast.
For those pilots flying up into Townsville using our shuttle service you will have the opportunity to purchase provisions in Charters Towers.
NOTE: Pilots are responsible for their own food, accommodation & camping fees where applicable. If A pilot choose to stay in the Ritz Hotel 🙂
